The services being evaluated in Ålesund was Psykisk helseteam (Mental health team), manned apartments for people with mental health issues, DPS Vegsund, and DPS Sjøholt.

Ålesund was facing a series of challenges concering accessibility, information and communication in its services. Service users should receive support and guidance in making decisions regarding their treatment. Service user involvement should become a high priority.

Relatives and other dependents may be involved and supported better. There should be a greater commitment to qualification and work practice together with The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV).

The collaboration between DPS and the municipality is important for preventive measures.
